Army War Hero to represent Tokyo Paralympic Games
July 31, 2021Sri Lanka’s differently able No. 1 Wheelchair Tennis player Sergeant D.H.R Dharmasena of the Army has been selected to participate in the Tokyo Paralympics Games - 2021.
Army sources said that he began playing wheelchair Tennis after he was injured during the humanitarian operation before May 2009 due to a terrorist attack in the North.
He had won medals at Asian para games, Malaysian Labuan open wheelchair Tennis championship and Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur open single in the year 2018 and remains 62nd international rankings in wheelchair tennis, the Army confirmed.
