No Tsunami threat to Sri Lanka- Met Dept.
August 03, 2021National Tsunami Early Warning Centre of the Meteorological Department issuing a statement says that there is no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka at present with the effect of the earthquake of magnitude 6.5 Richter Scale, close to the Andaman Islands.
Therefore, the coastal areas of Sri Lanka are declared safe and the public is further informed that this message is announced in consultation with relevant national and international agencies, the statement confirms.
