Street parading of Sandahiru Stupa Sacred Pinnacle begins for third day
August 10, 2021The religious procession carrying the ‘Sacred Pinnacle‘ and the 'Crest-Gem' of Sandahiru Stupa commenced its journey from the Bellanwila Raja Maha Viharaya today morning (Aug 10) amidst religious blessings.
The parading will be in place carrying two revered articles to the day’s destination while passing Bokundara, Piliyandala, Polgasowita, Kottawa, Maharagama, Sri Jayewardenepura University, Egodawatta, Raththanapitiya, Divulpitiya North, Nugegoda, Nugegoda Railway Station, Nawala, Koswatta, Rajagiriya, Akuregoda, Arangala, Boralugoda, Athurugiriya, Kaduwela Road and Oruwala to reach the third day’s destination at Korathota Rajamaha Viharaya in the evening.
The parading of sacred articles would be presided over by Ven. Maha Sanga amidst the religious blessings throughout the exposition.
Police Divisions of the respective areas will control the road traffic and strict healthcare measures will also be in place during the programme.
The exposition of the revered articles which commenced from Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple on Aug 08 has been scheduled to facilitate the devotees around the country for the veneration before they are placed on the Sandahiru Stupa.
