Army mobile vaccination begins in hill country
August 24, 2021Sri Lanka Army’s Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination project began its operations yesterday (Aug 23) from the Kandy Army Hospital premises to administer the vaccine against COVID-19 for the elderly, sick, handicapped and feeble sections in the society.
Three mobile vaccination vehicles are on standby and the services can be obtained by applicants registered with respective Divisional Secretariats, Grama Seva officials, health workers and the District Secretariat or by phoning the 11 Division HQ at Pallekele for necessary coordination, the Army said.
The standby ambulance with a Medical Officer will monitor the process closely throughout its operations and would extend its service in the event of any emergency, the Army also confirmed.
