Judgemental Training Module for SLCG personnel
September 07, 2021The Sri Lanka Coastguard (SLCG) personnel received training on ‘Judgemental Training’ from a qualified representative of Global Maritime Crime Program of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime(UNODC), at the Advanced Training Centre in Mirissa, recently.
According to the SLCG sources, the training consisted of four modules each consisting of two day sessions was conducted by a qualified foreign instructor from UNODC.
These modules enhance individual judgemental skills on use of force in various simulated situations and 32 SLCG personnel underwent training, the SLCG said.
Course participants experienced maximum numbers of animated and simulated situations to improve lawful, quick, effective, accurate action and decision making in complex working environments.
The knowledge and the practical experience received through this training benefited the participants, the SLCG also said.
The Head of the Global Maritime Crime Program, UNODC Alan Cole and high-level delegation of UNODC in Sri Lanka visited SLCG Headquarters recently to observe the training programme and the Director General of SLCG Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake while appreciating the service rendered to enhance capacity building, handed over a token of appreciation to the visiting high official.
