Army Troops Join Kandy Cleaning Project
August 02, 2019A special programme, launched by the Central Province Ministry of Agriculture with the objective of cleaning the Kandy town and its suburbs, prior to the commencement of the annual Sri Dalada Perahera festival got underway during 28-29 July with the participation of 94 Army personnel of the 11 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen).
Major General Senarath Bandara, General Officer Commanding, 11 Division on the directions of Major General Laksiri Waduge, Commander, Security Forces - Central directed his troops to join hands with other participants in the project, themed ‘Parisaraya Poojaniyai’.
A large gathering of state officials, tri-service members, Police Officers, Ministry officials, Municipal Council employees and other volunteers contributed to the success of the project.
