Army raided cannabis cultivation in Balahuruwa
September 16, 2021Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops following a tip off from the Military Intelligence raided a hidden cannabis cultivation at the Balaharuwa in Thanamalwila recently (Sep 14).
20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops under Security Force Headquarters-Central raided the illegal cultivation.
The illegal crop cultivation was located in a plot of land about ½ acres and the SLA sources revealed the value to be about Rs 10 million.
Police officers also arrived at the location and troops had destroyed the cannabis cultivation under the supervision of the Police.
Thanamalwila Police are now conducting investigations into the incident.
