Kilinochchi troops come to the aid of local residents
August 05, 2019Sri Lanka Army troops in Kilinochchi ever conscious to the needs of the general masses there have taken measures to provide them with tanks to store much needed drinking water. According to Army media, troops have installed three 3000ltr plastic water tanks at Urthirapuram, Kumarapuram and Umayalapuram villages in the Kilinochchi district to store water.
This public welfare initiative was taken after requests were made by the public. The region is under a spell of prolonged drought and Army personnel there continue to supply them with water to fulfill their drinking water requirements.
Meanwhile, 60 Army personnel volunteered to donate blood to the patients at the Kilinochchi hospital during a blood donation campaign organized by the Bank of Ceylon, recently (01).
