Sandbag waterway to facilitate Kantale Water Purification Plant
September 19, 2021Sri Lanka Army (SLA) laid a sandbag bund in Kantale waterway to facilitate water from Mahaweli River to Kantale Water Purification Plant, following a request made by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) since the water level has lessen at the specific location below the pumping point.
The SLA has responded to the NWSDB’s request swiftly while deploying its 22 Division troops under Security Force Headquarters-East.
The SLA sources said over 15,000 regional water consumers were benefitted and continue to pump purified drinking water uninterruptedly as a result.
