Army nabs 2350 kilos of smuggled turmeric
September 25, 2021Sri Lanka Army troops apprehended a stock of smuggled 2350 kg of turmeric and 50 kg of cardamom during a search conducted in Wettakadu area recently.
Troops of 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) in Mullaittivu conducted the search following the receipt of information provided by Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) and also arrested two suspects, the Army said.
The suspects and the stock of smuggled items were handed over to the Pooneryn Police for further investigations, the Army confirmed.
