SLN and SLCG bring injured fisherman ashore
September 28, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) brought an injured fisherman ashore from a multi-day fishing trawler on July 26 and directed to the Trincomalee District General Hospital for further treatment.
According to the SLN sources, the fisherman was injured following an accident in the mid sea while he was aboard a local fishing vessel about 30 nautical miles (approx. 55km) off Trincomalee.
Arriving at the location yesterday, the SLN’s Fast Attack Craft fetched the fisherman close to Trincomalee harbour and fetched ashore while transferring the patient to a Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG vessel, the SLN said.
Reportedly, the fishing vessel ‘Sudu Ruwan 3’, which he was sailing for fishing, has left the Ambalangoda Fisheries Harbour on Sep 19.
