Colombo Defence Seminar- 2019 in August
August 06, 2019The Colombo Defence Seminar- 2019 is to be held at the tail end of this month (August) in Colombo. According to Army media, the premier annual two-day international defence conference organized by the Sri Lanka Army will begin at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on the 29th morning and will conclude with the conclusion ceremony the next day (30).
The 8th Colombo Defence Seminar was conducted at the same venue under the theme, “Security in an Era of Global Disruptions”, in August, last year (2018).
The series of annual conferences was launched in 2011 as the Defence Seminar with the participation of more than 160 foreign delegates from 60 countries. Turning a new leaf, the international conclave was renamed and came to be known as the ‘Colombo Defence Seminar', in 2016.
