October 04, 2021

The ‘Sacred Pinnacle’ and the ‘Crest-Gem’’ of Sandahiru Stupa will arrive at the ancient Kiri Vehera premises situated in Kataragama tomorrow (Oct 5).

The revered Stupa articles left Weherahena Rajamaha Viharaya today morning (Oct 4) amidst religious blessings and they will reach the day’s destination, the Tissamaharama Raja Maha Viharaya in the evening while passing the country’s Southern tip, Gandara, Dikwella, Tangalle, Ranna, Hungama, Hambantota and Weerawila.

The Pinnacle which was on parade for public veneration commenced its journey yet again on Oct 1, following the cessation of countrywide quarantine curfew which was in force over the last month.

Accordingly, the revered articles will reach Sandahiru Stupa premises in Anuradhapura during the latter part of October passing several areas of the country.

The parading of revered articles would be presided over by Ven. Maha Sanga amidst religious blessings throughout the exposition.

Police Divisions of the respective areas will control the traffic and strict healthcare measures will be in place during the programme.
