SLAF-manufactured HHOTs donated to Government Hospitals
October 16, 2021The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) recently handed over Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units (HHOT) to government hospitals in Ampara, Badulla, Kalutara and Polgasowita to use in the treatment of COVID-19 patients on the instructions of the SLAF Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana.
Dr. Asoka from Heal Sri Lanka, Mr. Ranjith Thennekone, President of the Seth Sandhana Meth Maga Samajasathkaraya in Nugegoda, Mr. Navin Gunetilleke and Mrs. WRM Perera have financially contributed for the manufacture of the Unit, the SLAF said.
The HHOT Units were manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at SLAF Katunayake together with the electronical design by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at SLAF Ratmalana.
Further, the events were attended by a few Officers and Other Ranks while adhering to health guidelines, the SLAF confirmed.
