Army-built new houses vested in needy families
October 17, 2021Sri Lanka Army extending its community welfare projects constructed two more houses with the support of philanthropists and were recently vested in needy families.
Accordingly, Mrs P Wijendrani and her family in Maruthodai, Nedunkerni was given a house built by 11 Gemunu Watch troops under the Security Force Headquarters (SFHQ) - Wanni, the Army sources said.
‘Dowels’ Doctors’ Welfare Association’s President in Kandy, Mr Nalinda Dissanayaka, Mr. Dileep Jayakody, Veheratenna Metal Crushers Pvt Ltd owner, Captain Laxman (Rtd), Mr Ranjula and 11 Gemunu Watch troops financially contributed to the worthy cause, the Army also said.
Meanwhile, another house built by the 4 Gemunu Watch troops under the SFHQ – East was vested in Mr M.M.S.T Kumara Nandasena in Sippimadu, Unnacchhi and the Cardiac Surgeon Dr Muditha Lansakara sponsored the entire project while manpower and technical expertise have been extended by the troops.
Brief house warming ceremonies were attended by a limited number of participants including senior military officers, donors and state officials, the Army confirmed.
