SLAF dry run to place Sandahiru Stupa Pinnacle
October 18, 2021A Bell 412 helicopter belonging to Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has been assigned to place the ‘Pinnacle’ on the top of Sandahiru Seya in Anuradhapura, the SLAF sources said.
Air Force Chief Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana arriving in Anuradhapura had witnessed the rehearsals yesterday (17) and had duly instructed the pilots assigned the task accordingly.
The mission has been undertaken by the No.04 Helicopter Squadron stationed in Ratmalana, the SLAF added.
The exposition of the sacred Pinnacle of the Stupa is underway in religious procession for public veneration and it will reach Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya today evening.
