Indian NDC Delegation calls on Defence Secretary
October 18, 2021An Indian National Defence College (NDC) delegation led by Maj. Gen. Hari B Pillai made a call on the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry in Defence Headquarters Complex, Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte today (Oct 18).
Following a warm reception, Maj. Gen. Pillai and a few senior officers accompanied by Capt. Viaks Sood, the Defence Advisor to Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka held cordial discussions with the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary.
Commandant of Sri Lankan NDC Maj. Gen. Amal Karunasekara was also present at the occasion.
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan Military Liaison Officer (MLO) Maj. Gen. Dinesh Nanayakkara engaged in an educational dialogue with the visiting delegation followed by an informative question and answering session at the Ministry’s conference hall.
The session led by MLO consisted of discussions on areas of mutual interest and defence related matters to enlighten the officials.
Senior Military Officers from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Japan and USA and Civil Staff Officers undergoing the course were also included in the NDC delegation that arrived in Sri Lanka on a study tour.
Culminating the programme, mementos were also exchanged between two parties to mark the visit.
