Army troops plant ‘Kumbuk’ in the East
October 20, 2021Sri Lanka Army’s East-based troops recently planted 1,600 'Kumbuk' saplings inside the Security Forces – East Headquarters compound as an alternative solution to improve water retention ability.
The project was carried out on the instructions of Commander, SFHQ-E Maj. Gen. Channa Weerasuriya and is in line with the island-wide campaign to plant 10,000 'Kumbuk’ saplings on account of the 72nd Army Anniversary, the Army sources said.
