Coast Guard DG exchanges views on training with an Australian delegation
October 22, 2021A delegation of the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka led by First Secretary Inspector Brett Zehnder, Australian Border Force (ABF) along with ABF Coordinator Shashika Perera met the Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake recently.
According to SLCG sources the discussion had mainly focused on the exchange of training assistance.
Whilst exchanging views on the possibility of conducting future training in new normal situation under regulated post Covid 19 pandemic situation both parties had mutually agreed to re-establish the past interaction and training, the SLCG added.
Director General Rear Admiral Ekanayake had conveyed his appreciation for the long-term training assistance extended by the Australian Government and ABF for the capacity building and infrastructure development of the SLCG.
The fruitful discussion concluded with the exchange of mementoes to mark the visit, the SLCG also said.
