Army troops clean beach areas from Wadiduwag to Kokilai
October 23, 2021The Sri Lanka Army troops recently engaged in cleaning the coastal belt from Wadiduwag to Kokilai with a view to create a clean and safe beach environment.
12 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 24 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 19 Gemunu Watch and 5 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops under the Security Forces – Mullaitivu carried out the cleaning project, the Army sources said.
During the project, the troops removed marine pollutants, like plastic waste and polythene from the beach using tractors given by the Mullaitivu Pradeshiya Sabha, the Army confirmed.
