Secretary meets delegation of domestic aviation sector
August 09, 2019Secretary to the Ministry of Defence General SHS Kottegoda (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP VSV usp ndu met a delegation of domestic aviation sector including representatives of the Owners and Operators Association for a discussion at the Ministry, last evening (08th August 2019).
A range of issues including security issues and difficulties faced by plane and helicopter operators and aviation training institutions since the April bombings, were presented by the delegation for discussion. Secretary Defence gave a patient hearing to their grievances and discussed ways and means of finding lasting solutions to issues faced by them without compromising on national security requirements.
Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, Chief of National Intelligence, Military Liaison Officer of the MoD, senior officials of the Civil Aviation Authority, Mahaweli Authority, Airport and Aviation Authority and other line agencies were also present at the occasion.
