SLAF unveils the pinnacle of Kanugahawewa Abinawaramaya Temple
November 08, 2021The Pinnacle unveiling of Abinawaramaya Temple in Kanugahawewa, Kebithigollewa took place at the auspicious time under the patronage of Sri Lanka Air force (SLAF) recently.
According to the SLAF sources, the construction of Pagoda was entirely funded and laboured by the SLAF.
The Kebithigollewa, Kanugahawewa model village development project which was vested in the public by the President, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa as a result of the “Gama Samaga Pilisandara” program was undertaken by the SLAF under the supervision of Air Force Chief Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana in keeping with with the SLAF 70th anniversary.
The all phases of the mega development project is currently nearing completion successfully, the SLAF added.
The construction of this Pagoda at the Abinawaramaya Temple is a part of this project, they also said.
The SLAF has also constructed a new ‘Bell Tower’, renovation of ‘Bodhi Prakaraya’, ‘Sangawasa Building’, ‘Wash Room Complex’ and ‘Sunday School Building’.
They also intend to vest in the public the newly constructed Kanugahawewa Seva Piyasa, Halmillawetiya Seva Piyasa, Office of the Halmillawetiya Medical Officer of Health and the Volleyball Pitch on Nov 09.
