VBSS Course for regional and local law enforcement agencies
November 11, 2021The inaugural ceremony of the Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) Course was held at the Weligambay Villas Resort, Mirissa recently (Nov 8).
The Sri Lanka Course Guard (SLCG) said, eight officers representing Bangladesh Coast Guard and eight participants from SLCG have joined the training program in order to qualify as competent VBSS members.
This training is considered as an avenue for participants to enhance their skills related to VBSS operations.
The programme sponsored by the Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) of the United Nations Office of Drug and Crime (UNODC) was conducted by well qualified foreign instructors with four local instructors from SLN and SLCG.
This can be considered as another significant international training extension facilitated by SLCG's Advanced Training Centre under the purview of the Regional Capacity Building Programme
