Completed phases of Kanugahawewa model village vested in public
November 11, 2021Completed phases of the Kanugahawewa model village vested in public by the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) recently.
SLAF constructed ‘Sewa Piyasa’, MOH office, volleyball court and a bus halt at Halmillawatiya including another ‘Seva Piyasa’ building at Kanugahawwa, Kebithigollewa were completed, the SLAF said.
The newly constructed ‘Sewa Piyasa’ building setup for administrative services sought by villagers comprises Grama Niladhari Office, Sub Post Office, the Economic Development Officer’s Office, Samurdhi Development Officer’s Office and a Fresh Milk Collection Centre.
Further they also have inaugurated a construction of a ‘Dana Salawa’ (Alms Hall), renovation of ‘Kalagam Vehera’ Temple at Halmillawatiya. According SLAF all the projects were entirely funded by the Urban Development Authority and SLAF has provided the labour.
The Kebithigollewa, Kanugahawewa Model Village Development Project was vested in the public by the President, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa as a result of the “Gama Samaga Pilisandara” program conducted at Kebithigollewa.
It was undertaken by the SLAF under the direction of Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana in line with the SLAF 70th anniversary, the SLAF added.
The Handing Over/ Taking Over ceremony of all constructions funded by UDA was held on 09 Nov with the participation SLAF, UDA and regional state officials.
