Army renovated Ihalapalugaswewa tank
November 15, 2021Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops renovated and attended to desilting work of the Ihalapalugaswewa Tank in Galgamuwa recently and formally handed it over to the authorities.
SLA’s 11 Field Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) troops completed the project which was initiated under the 'Wari Saubhagya' national irrigation development programme of the government in close cooperation with officials of the Department of Agrarian Development in Kurunegala, the SLA sources said.
Commanding Officer of the 11 SLE, Lt. Col. Krishantha Pussewela supervised the project that benefits hundreds of farming communities since the tank remained unattended for a long time, the SLA added.
