CSD produced Organic Fertilizer handed over to ‘Lak Pohora’
December 02, 2021A consignment of Organic Fertilizer produced by the Civil Secuirty Department (CSD) was handed over to the state owned Ceylon Fertilizer Company (Lak Pohora) recently.
According to CSD media sources, 7600 kilograms of Organic Fertilizer produced by its Trincomalee Battalion was handed over to the Kantale stores of the Ceylon Fertilizer Company upon being subjected quality inspection.
The CSD has commenced producing Organic Fertilizer at its island wide Battalions and 24 Training Schools and thus has produced 1,064,000 kilograms of Organic Fertilizer. The CSD expects to produce 4,000,000 kilograms of Organic Fertilizer by the end of this year, it says.
CSD Organic Fertilizer production project is being carried out in keeping with the President’s ‘Vistas of Prosperity’ programme and under the guidance of the CSD Director General Major General N R Lamahewage (Retd).
