Defence Secretary graces a book launching ceremony
December 05, 2021Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne was the Chief Guest at the book launching ceremony organized by the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen's Association (SLESA) held at its Auditorium in Colombo today (Dec 05).
During the ceremony, the maiden copy of an anthology of poetry of Sergeant Anusha Jayathilaka (Retd.) was presented to the Defence Secretary.
Gen. Gunaratne who is also involved in literary work underlined the significance of emerging literary contributors and their attempt of socializing the story of war heroes who immensely served for the betterment of the motherland.
President of the SLESA Maj. Gen. Upul Perera (Retd.), Defence Ministry’s Military Liaison Officer Maj. Gen. Dinesh Nanayakkara, Director Welfare of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Vice Marshal Hemantha Soysa and members of the SLESA were also present at the ceremony.
The event organized with a limited gathering was held in keeping with the stipulated healthcare guidelines to contain the spread of COVID-19.
