War Heroes to receive electric motorcycles
December 11, 2021Ranaviru Seva Authority (RSA) initiated a programme to donate 55 hand-operated electrically charged motorcycles to selected differently able war heroes based on their disability percentage.
Making a leap forward instead of the conventional rehabilitation process of confining them to a wheelchair for domestic affairs, following a concept of the RSA Chairman, this scheme was initiated in a bid to engage them with community work and encourage their contribution to the development of social relations.
In the first phase, one motorcycle each for the Monaragala, Ratnapura and Matara districts and two electric motorcycles for two war veterans in the Hambantota district were sent today.
As an extension of this scheme, electrically charged motorcycles will be distributed to selected differently-able war heroes all over the island in the future, the RSA sources said.
