Lifesaving workshops for civilian communities in Gampaha
August 13, 2019With a view to educate the civilians, especially the fishing communities on water safety, drowning prevention and first aid, a series of lifesaving and drowning prevention awareness workshops was conducted by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard Life Saving Training School, recently.
According to SLCG media, these workshops had been initiated under the directives of the Presidential Secretariat Office as a part of the "Rata Wenuwen Ekatasitimu" of the Gampaha District programme.
The workshops were conducted for the communities living in Pamunugama, Dikowita, Hendala, Duwa and Pitapana areas on 30th July and 04th August.
A large number of civilians, state officials and local body representatives were present at the workshops.
