Reciprocal armed forces tour expedition ends

The visiting Indian tri services delegation left the island after completing its three-day tour of the country on Tuesday (18 June). According to Army media, this reciprocal visit between members of the armed forces of  India and Sri Lanka saw 159 Indian tri forces delegation together with their spouses arrive in the country on Sunday (15). On the same day, a 162-member team of Sri Lankan Armed Forces members along with their spouses left for India.

This project has been organized to further strengthen cooperation and understanding between the armed forces of Sri Lanka and India.

During its visit to the island the Indian delegation visited a number of important places including the historic Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth) in Kandy, Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and the southern coastal city of Galle.

The Sri Lankan delegation which had returned after completing its tour of India has visited the sacred Bodh Gaya its stay there.
