Army weightlifters qualify for Commonwealth Games
February 28, 2022Two weightlifters of the Sri Lanka Army won a Gold Medal and the Bronze Medal at the ongoing International Weightlifting Championship - 2022 in Singapore and qualified to represent the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
Sergeant J.A.C Lakmal of Commando Regiment and Corporal Y.D.I Kumara of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps have thus won the Gold Medal under 67 kg weight category and the Bronze Medal under 55kg weight category respectively, the Army sources stated.
