SL Coast Guard to provide more training opportunities to Army and Air Force personnel
March 07, 2022A team of surf lifeguard and pool lifeguard personnel of Coastguard, Army and Air Force were presented with certificates after successfully completing a lifeguard training programme at the SLCG Life Saving Training School (LSTS) in Balapitiya recently (Mar 05), reports Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) media.
The programme held in view of SLCG’s 12th anniversary celebrations saw 21 Army and Air Force members being awarded with basic and resuscitation level lifeguard certificates while 10 SLCG personnel were awarded with pool life guard certificates, it says.
The SLCG has offered more lifeguard training opportunities for members of the Army and Air Force with a view to promote water safety and aquatic rescue to reduce the increase of mortality rate due to drowning incidents, it further states.
