Four foreign Navy ships arrive to Sri Lanka
March 10, 2022Four ships belonging to the French, Bangladesh and Indian navies arrived at the Colombo and Hambantota ports making official visits on 08th and 09th (March 2022).
According to Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) media, Support and Assistance Ship ‘Loire’ of the French Navy arrived in Colombo on Tuesday (08) while the Bangladesh Navy corvette BNS ‘Prottasha’ and Indian Navy frigates ‘Talwar’ and ‘Brahmaputra’ arrived at the Hambantota port on Wednesday (09).
SL media further says, the French ship and the two Indian frigates will conduct separate naval exercises with the Sri Lanka Navy during their stay in the island.
The Bangladeshi ship and the two Indian Navy ships are scheduled to leave the country on Friday (11) and the French ship will depart the following day (12), it states.
All proceedings relating to the visits will be carried out adhering to COVID-19 protocols, it further says.
