Navy nabs cannabis worth over Rs.52 million from Mannar
March 20, 2022Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) nabbed 175 kilos of Cannabis during a special raid carried out in the seas off Oluthuduwai, Mannar yesterday (Mar 18).
According to SLN sources they have nabbed 02 suspects and a dinghy in connection to the incident.
SLN said the consignment was packed in six gunny sacks and also believes the same is worth over Rs. 52 million.
The suspects held in the operation were identified as residents of Udayapuram in Vankaleipadu, aged 33 and 34 and they were handed over to the Mannar Police with the arrested items for onward legal proceedings.
