SLN nabs cannabis worth over Rs 12 million
March 23, 2022Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) seized 41 kilos and 540 grams of Cannabis at the Mampuri Beach, Norochcholai yesterday (22).
The haul of Cannabis was found after it had been abandoned by racketeers to evade the Navy’s operations in the region, the SLN said.
A detachment of SLN’s Special Boat Squadron deployed at Mampuri Beach has conducted the raid.
The SLN believes the street value of the seized stock to be over Rs. 12 million.
The Norochcholai Police is conducting further investigations into the incident, the SLN added.
