SLN removes debris clogged in Gin Ganga
April 14, 2022Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) cleared debris clogged under the Agaliya, Wakwella and Dodangoda bridges of Gin Ganga in a bid to preserve the free water flow recently.
The normal water flow has carried debris which has got stuck under bridge preventing gravity flow and may pose a flood threat to the surrounding low lying areas in the region.
Initiating prompt measures, the SLN cleared two blockades by deploying their divers and a team of Rapid Action Boat Squadron serving under the Southern Naval Command.
The SLN constantly clears blocks under the Wakwella, Agaliya and Dodangoda narrow Bridges over Gin Ganga, which flows into the ocean from Gintota.
