New house for an ex-combatant
April 21, 2022A new house built by Sri Lanka Army (SLA) was vested in recently to a former LTTE combatant in Mailaddy, Jaffna.
Mr Rasawallan Thaboruban who was rehabilitated and reintegrated to the society and was without a proper shelter for his family thus received the new home built with the financial contribution of the philanthropist, Vish Nadaraja, the SLA stated.
10 Sri Lanka Artillery troops provided manpower and technical expertise for the construction work.
Chief of the Defence Staff and Army Commander, Gen. Shavendra Silva joined the house-warming ceremony at Mailaddy via zoom technology from the Army Headquarters and extended his best wishes for a brighter future, the SLA also stated.
Commander, Security Forces Jaffna Maj. Gen. Sujeewa Senarath Yapa together with the sponsor, Senior Officers, state officials, beneficiary's relatives and troops graced the house-warming ceremony.
