Air Force provides educational assistance for students
August 23, 2019A group of children were beneficiaries of educational scholarships awarded by the Sri Lanka Air Force under a welfare project of its Seva Vanitha Unit, recently. According to Air Force media, a ceremony was held at the Air Force Headquarters on Thursday (22 August) to distribute these educational incentives among selected children of both service and civil personnel of the Air Force.
The ceremony saw 23 children receive educational scholarships under this welfare initiative. A further eleven (11) students, who had excelled at the G.C.E. O/L examination - 2018 by obtaining nine "A"s were also felicitated and provided with financial grants by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit.
The ceremony was graced by Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias. Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Mauyri Prabhavi Dias and senior officers of the SLAF were also present at the occasion
