SL Army troops to build new house for a widow in Jaffna
May 16, 2022Foundation stone was laid to a new house for a widow in Jaffna recently. According Sri Lanka Army media, the 55 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), as a part of SL Army’s social service initiatives has taken measures to build a new house to a widow and her family at Uduththurei in Jaffna.
Troops had initiated the construction of the house after the poor plight of the widow, V. Wasantha Kumarai was brought to the notice of the 55 Division. The proposed house will be built with financial assistance from Major General Ravi Rathnasingham (Retd) after a request was made to that effect by Commander, SF-J, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa and the GOC 55 Division Brigadier Prasanna Gunaratne, it says.
