Rough seas and fairly heavy rainfall above 50mm - Met. Department
May 24, 2022The Met. Department says fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can take place at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts.
Issuing today’s weather forecast (24) the Met. Department said showers/thundershowers will take place in several places in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening/night.
Further indicating the sea state, the Dept said the Puttalam to Kankasanturai and Hambantota to Pottuvil seas will be rough at times and other sea areas around the island can be moderate.
Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers, the weather forecast added.
