Army’s Yupun Abeykoon sets New National & South Asian Record
May 28, 2022Sri Lanka Army’s Staff Sergeant Yupun Abeykoon set a new South Asian Record finishing the 100m open event in German Open Athletic Championship in 10.06 seconds on Thursday (26)
Staff Sergeant Abeykoon from Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) held the previous record of 10.15 seconds in the year 2021, the Army sources said.
Thus, he broke all South Asian records in 100m as well as the South Asian records while claiming victory against all Asian records, the Army Media confirmed.
