NBRO issues landslide warning for several areas
June 01, 2022The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued landslide early warnings to Colombo, Galle, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya and Rathnapura Districts which is valid until 4.30 p.m. today (June 01).
Accordingly Ratnapura, Kalawana, Elapatha, Kuruwita and Eheliyagoda areas in Ratnapura district has been issued with ‘Red’ colour warnings (Level 3).
Bulathkohupitiya, Dehiowita, Warakapola and Kegalle in Kegalle District, Kotapola and Pitabeddara in Matara District and Kiriella, Pelmadulla, Ayagama and Nivithigala in Ratnapura District have been issued with the warnings of ‘Amber’ (Level 2).
The areas announced for potential risk and respective levels are as follows.
