Showery condition is expected to enhance - Met Department
June 17, 2022Met. Department said that the showery condition is expected to enhance over the most parts of the island due to low level atmospheric disturbance today (June 17).
Advising the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers, the Met. Dept. said cloudy skies will prevail over most parts of the island.
According to the forecast, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Northern provinces and showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere, particularly during the afternoon or night.
Fairly heavy showers of about 75 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northern, North-Central and southern provinces, the weather forecast added.
