Army promotes badminton among Jaffna youth
June 17, 2022Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in view of promoting the game of badminton among the youth in the Jaffna peninsula conducted a badminton training programme recently at the 55 Division’s auditorium.
Troops of the 55 Division organized the training programme to groom national-level sportsmen and sportswomen while encouraging students and the youth in the peninsula to compete at school, district, provincial and national levels, the SLA sources said.
Over 35 schools and Sports Clubs in Point Pedro, Nagarkovil, Maradankerni, Aiyyakachchi, Pallai and Kaddaikadu areas took part in the community project which was attended by 55 Division General Officer Commanding, Maradankerni Divisional Secretary, the Army also said.
