Jaffna students received push bicycles through Army initiatives
June 29, 2022Sri Lanka Army (SLA) distributed 22 push bicycles among low-income group of schooling children and a stock of 50 dry ration packs to needy families in the Jaffna peninsula recently at the Cultural Centre, Chavakachcheri following sponsorship, extended by Mr Rajikaran Shanmugarathnam, a Canada-based philanthropist.
The programme organized by the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) under the guidance of SFHQ – Jaffna Commander Maj. Gen. Chandana Wijayasundara also enhances and strengthens the civil military cooperation in the region.
State Officials, Senior Officers, the donor, members of the Tamil community, parents and teachers were also present during the distribution ceremony.
