SLN assists COVID-19 vaccination drive in Eastern Province

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) extended their supportive hands to the healthcare sector in order to conduct a two-day COVID-19 vaccination drive which was planned for the Trincomalee based school children.

Accordingly, the Public Health Inspectors’ Office of Trincomalee together with the healthcare staffers of the Eastern Naval Command performed this inoculation drive for school children recently (June 27 and 28), the SLN sources said.

During the session, a total of 252 school children, including 186 students of the Hindu College and 66 students of Rajakeeya Vidyaloka National School in Trincomalee were vaccinated against COVID-19.

SLN embarked in this noble project on the directives of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne as part of its community oriented services and timely social responsibility initiative.

Supportive measure to execute this vaccination drive was extended under the close supervision of the Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne.
