Hands on food security drive
July 04, 2022North based troops of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) also embarks on food security drive by way of planting different varieties of banana and vegetable and also sowing paddy at their farms in the Jaffna peninsula.
Commander Security Forces Jaffna Major General Chandana Wijayasundara inaugurated the project by planting several varieties of banana in a land plot of one acre inside ther headquarter premises, the Army said.
The Army also said initiative to cultivate the country’s staple food, rice, was also commenced at the same time, in their paddy fields.
