Army dowses bush fire at Wellawaya
July 19, 2022Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops attached to the Wellawaya areas doused a bush fire at the Devagiri Mountain range in Mahagoda Yaya in Wellawaya recently.
Accordingly, 121 Brigade troops arrived at the scene dowsed the wildfire and prevented its further spread into the adjacent forest reserve, the SLA said.
The prompt response of the troops contained the blowing up bushfire while preventing a severe damage that may cause to the adjacent areas.
Major General Lanka Amarapala, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division closely supervised the emergency fire control, the Army added.
