Reps from ‘Save the Children Sri Lanka’ meet NAHTTF
August 18, 2022A meeting of National Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (NAHTTF) was held with the representatives from ‘Save the Children Organization’ to discuss activities under the project of Strengthening Government and Civil Society Organizations’ Capacity to Combat Trafficking in Persons and Create Greater Impact (IMPACT) at the Defence Ministry last evening Aug (17 Aug).
On behalf of the Defence Secretary and Chairman of NAHTTF, Maj. Gen. Ruwan Kulatunga (Retd), Chief of National Intelligence, presided over the meeting. The participating members of the NAHTTF included Ms. Buddhini Withana-Senior Technical Advisor (Child Protection and Child Rights in Business) and Sushetha Gopallawa-Senior Manager (Counter Trafficking) from the Save the Children Organization.
With funding support from the United States Department of State’s Office to monitor combat Trafficking In Persons (J/TIP), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) implements this three-year project with the support of NAHTTF and four other Civil Society Organizations including Save the Children Organization in Sri Lanka.
