10th “Exercise Cormorant Strike” to commence next week

The joint mega Tri-Services Field Training Exercise (FTX), “Exercise Cormorant Strike X – 2019” is scheduled to commence next week (03rd September). This was revealed at the press briefing held last evening at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo to announce of the Colombo Defence Seminar.

“Exercise Cormorant Strike X” will be held from 03 to 24 September covering the Eastern, Central, Western and North Central Provinces.

The Army media states, this year the Exercise, planned to be held for the 10th consecutive time will see 2400 Army, 400 Navy and 200 Air Force personnel taking part in the exercise maneuvers, this year.

In addition, over 100 foreign military representatives and observers from Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Russia, USA, Bangladesh, China, France, India, Iran, Pakistan, UK, and Zambia are also expected to attend the “Exercise Cormorant Strike X- 2019”.

The Exercise will end with the ‘Critical Engagement’ on 23rd September at Kuchchuveli in the Eastern Province which will be followed by the Exercise de-brief, the following day (24).
